Large Group Session

  Large group sessions

I typically photograph large groups in an outdoor setting as my studio can not accommodate large groups.

For sessions in the Cary/Crystal Lake area, a large group session is $250.  This includes the large group portrait and combination photos.  Combination photos include cousin’s shots, sibling shots, grandparent/grandchildren photos …Group Sessions include one download link and one print release.  Additional CDs with copyright may be purchased for $35.  If you plan on sharing your download link…I ask that you do the right thing and buy another link.

Individual families may opt for an individual family mini session at the conclusion of the group session.  Mini sessions for individual families are $55.  This includes family and individual photos (about 30 total).

When scheduling with family members, I have found Friday early evenings and Sunday afternoon/early evenings seems to be a good starting point when many different families are able to accommodate the photo shoot into their schedules.
Once you’ve decided to book a large group family session with me…the next question is typically…what should we wear?  Hopefully this helps a little: When deciding what to wear for family portraits, keep in mind where you plan on displaying your portrait. Is it going to be in a formal room or a more casual room? That will determine what type of clothing to wear. Also keep in mind the colors in that room. You don’t want to wear colors that will clash with the colors of that room.

It seems that as a group…coordination is key…but everyone completely matching is overkill. Neutrals work well and seem to be a choice that most family member have in their closet already (browns, beige, white and black.)  But I also love eggplant and different hues of blue too.  Solids are always better than prints – but simple stripes and simple patterns work well too.  Each family group in a slightly different hue seems to work also.
